The ERA (Endometrial Receptivity Analysis) Test
The ERA Test was developed to help determine the best day for embryo transfer, with the goal of lessening implantation failure rates.
Not all bodies respond to the “standard” doses of hormones used in IVF cycles in the same way. Because of this, your endometrial lining may be “most ready” to receive an embryo on a different day than the “standard” protocol developed based on the “average” person.
We have had personal experience in our in-person classes/support groups with women for whom this test ended up being a crucial part of their success in getting pregnant! When the doses of progesterone and date of embryo transfer were adjusted to the individual, voila, they were pregnant.
Testing typically involves doing a “mock” IVF cycle and tissue samples are sent to the manufacturer for analysis.
Talk to your health care provider if you think this test might be important to consider for you.
